Buyouts on Option Years
I know I can probably look this up on the Internet, but I thought asking you guys would be better.
In modern times, what is your typical buyout amount that you offer with a team/player/vesting option? I'm know that the buyout amount will change since its based on the player's stardom status and contract offer. Thanks in advance. |

In the game, I usually offer 10% of the final year.

Check out Cot's Baseball Contracts. Buyouts are variable. Many options have $0 buyouts.

I, too, offer 10% of the final year's contract, or thereabouts. Between 8 and 12.
