Show Nicknames instead of Team name?

Is there a way to have the score summaries show the nicknames instead of the team names? In my case, the team names are all the state in which the team exists. So, I have a slew of "California" on the screen. Instead, I'd like it to show the nicknames...

What I do is add the first letter of the teams nickname when I have more than one team with the same state or city name.

Examples:
Philadelphia A Philadelphia Atoms
Philadelphia P-Philadelphia Phillies
California A-California Angels
California S-California Seals

You can put the nickname where the city name usually goes and put "of California" where the nickname usually goes.
