Vancouver Canucks - Rebuild

My Ottawa rebuild was going good, until I edited a couple players. It screwed up my file, so I decided to go ahead and try a Vancouver one instead. This time, I am not editing nothing (but the Salary Cap)

Vancouver Canucks.

Trade Bait:
  • Roberto Luongo
  • Kevin Bieska
  • Ryan Kesler
  • Alex Edler
  • Alex Burrows
  • Henrik Sedin
  • Daniel Sedin
  • Dan Hamhuis
  • Jay Garrison

Looking for:
  • Draft Picks
  • Young Defencemen (All types)
  • Stop Gaps
  • Left Wing
  • Center Depth

I like reading your dynasty but whats the point? You are going to have to start all over when the new patch comes out in a few days...

Maybe I'm too prudent but where are the screens? Can dynasty report survive without screens?

I had no idea the guy was even still around. Haven't heard anything about him since his days with the Flyers.

He's rated way to high. I doubt he will be back in the NHL. Some nice trades though otherwise

I was kinda hoping they would implement it without us losing any saved games.

I had cap space to spare, and needed LW help. Funny enough, he's my top producer right now. (But that's saying how bad the team is seeing as how my assistants wants to play Scott Gomez as my number 1 center >.>)

Usually the older saves should work but it might happen that a new game will be recommended since the time simmed with the older version can sometimes cause bugs. I don't know what the recommendation will be for the new patch though.

Lineup:

Team Page

Trades:

Vancouver trades G James Reimer to Carolina for G Cam Ward
Vancouver trades RD Jeremie Blain for C Scott Gomez*
Vancouver trades LD Yann Sauve, C Zac Dalpe, C Benn Ferriero, LW Brandon DeFazio to the Islanders for 2014 2nd Pick, 2015 2nd round pick, and 2015 3rd Round pick.
Vancouver trades Pierre-Cedric Labrie to Buffalo for RW Jaime Tardiff*

Resignings:

RD Chris Tanev - 3 years, $1,2166,666 per year
C Jordan Schrodeder - 4 years, $1,250,000 per year
C Mike Santorelli - 4 years, $1,625,000 per year **
LD Andrew Alberts - 2 years, $845,000 per year

Free Agent Signing:

LW Jaime Langenbrunner - 1 year, $2,700,000***

*= Need to trade for these two. In a span of 3 games, I had Kesler, Shore, and Santorelli injured.
**= 4 year might be too long, but other then Schroeder and Shore, I don't have another C prospect. He serves as a stop gap until one or both are ready.
***= We are short on LW.

As you can tell, we got hit by the injury bug big time. At one point, we had Bieska, Kesler, Santorelli, Tanev, Reimer on the IR.

I hope they have updated Simon Gagne's current attributes because in real life this guy didn't get a new NHL contract at the Flyers because they believed Micheal Raffle could do the same as he could and this Austrian kiddo played Swedish 2nd division last year.

In FHM 2014 Simon Gagne is first line potential.
Why didn't he sign a contract in Germany, all DELL teams could use a guy like that and he could be the new Corey Millen for a few years to come.

Only reason he is on my top line is because my LW depth sucks lol. I think on most teams, he might be a 3rd liner, with 2nd line duties because of injuries.

Thanks. I'm torn between trading Cam Ward, or keeping both. If I do trade Ward, I could possibly get at least 1 prospect, and an extra draft pick (not to mention, we will be gunning for the first overall pick).

You know the position is thin when you start giving 38-year-old forwards that kind of money.

Ranta signs overseas

After a lengthy search, Beauchamp finally found his new head coach. Sami Ranta , a native of Finland, signs on to be the new Head Coach.

"I wanted to be thorough in my search. I believe we have found a good guy to help with the rebuilding process. I could have went with an experience guy, such as Guy Boucher, Paul Maurice or Ted Nolan, but I felt that with a new team in place, we would benefit with a new voice."

During Beauchamp's interim head coach tenure, he guided the Canucks to a 7-17-5 record, which is last place in the Western Conference.

"I won't be applying for any coaching positions," Ryan joked, then grew serious. "This year has been crazy for this organization and its fans. We are in midst of a rebuild. Guys are coming and going, as we try to find the right balance."

Sami Ranta will make his debut tomorrow night against the Nashville Predators. You can catch the game on VANC 390 and on CSN.
