Doing a watcher game from the ABA quickstart and have gone 30 years thus far. There are no 300 game winners in the league yet, and this guy is the closest except...

. . . except he's 44 and has won one game in five years!
![]() Are you doing what I sometimes do, which is I will grab a guy like this, prevent him forceably from retiring if I must, and keep trotting him out there to achieve his milestone even if it costs me a bunch of games? EDIT: No, you said it was a "watcher game." Still, that is what I would do, sentimental slob that I am.

It's time for "Dodo" to become extinct.

Someone actually retired in 1974 with 297 wins, he's 52 now but still has 8/10 control, 5 movement and 7 stamina. If I had a club I'd bring both of these guys on for one last shot. |

Yup, that was only his second losing season since 1959 when he was 22, and then banished outright to the bullpen where he's had just the 1 win in five years! I guess he really lost it quick!
EDIT: no big injuries either, just looks like prior to 1976 his Stuff rating dipped from 5 to 4 and the rest is history. Last edited by thehatfield; 03-13-2014 at 11:29 AM. |

dola,
The Dodo didn't make it. Went on to throw 19 innings in 1982, went 1-0 with a 6.63 ERA (57 ERA+), .319 BABIP, -0.3 WAR and retired after the season to finish his career with 299 wins. To make matters worse, he only held the all-times win record for four seasons as Lucio "Tag" Torres of the Washington Mutuals blew past him in 1987 and is now up to 352 wins heading into his age 43 season in 1990. |
