After writing a recap and leaving first game of doubleheader, the game crashes when I try to proceed, never leaving the completed first game. All I can do is "Enter game" that I just finished. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Jim, "doubleheader" to me suggests a manual schedule setup. If so, I wonder if that went well or needs to be redone.

Also make sure your game times are not overlapping. One should allow at the very least, 3 hours between start times..
Just a thought that can once in a great while cause a problem. OOTP doesn't auto adjust start times when it comes to double headers. You should be able to change game 2 start time, but your gonna have to replay the first game most likely as I'm not sure you can save it at this point. It's worth a try though.. doubleheader crashes
I don't think the start time is the problem, but when I try to delete first game to play it over, as you suggested I might have to do, I get a message (in League Functions) that I can't make any adjustments while a game is going on. Well, the first game is over--but it isn't. It's sort of hung up. I have managed to start game 2 several times, but it crashes at various points--once when I got as far as the 7th inning. And it is a league schedule (1954), not a manual one. So I don't know if this is a hopeless case or not but it's beginning to look like one. Thanks much for your input.

I still say your problem is game 2 start time...but try this. Let game 1 finsish and don't play game 2. Then click finish today and maybe possibly, game 2 will complete and you'll be good to go...I'd make a copy of your saved game first.

doubleheader crashes
I've pretty much tried everything. Even if I click Finish Game for Game One, it apparently doesn't finish . . . even though it appears to and sometimes Game Two will start. Clicking Finish Today merely triggers the OOTP 14 Has Stopped Working crash message. But I would like to know how to make a copy of a game--if it in fact will let me. By the way, the game date is May 30, and I'm afraid the whole season may be lost because of this. Thanks again for your suggestions! FWIW, I think what may have triggered this was writing a recap, clicking Finish Recap and somehow (maybe) neglecting to Leave Game, if that provides any clues.

doubleheader crashes
I'm sorry, but I can find no such files in Saved Game. They're probably there somewhere but I'm not finding them and don't want to waste your time anymore.
I'm just going to delete the season and start over, taking care to avoid the Recap and Leave Game issue and pay more attention to Game 2 start times. This game has a ton of merit, but I've had more problems with it in six months of playing it than I've had in 15 years of Baseball for Windows and Diamond Mind. I greatly appreciate your willingness to help. Wondering also if Windows 8 (8.1, 64-bit) has anything to do with this. |
