Newbie cannot manage more than one game

Good day:

I am a newbie, and I started playing the 2013 season with the Phillies - just to get a feel for the game. It has been great. As I have been learning, I try to do more stuff.
I am trying to manage the games in the minor leagues of my organization - in order to become "familiar" with the players and make better roster decisions - but when I complete a game in the majors for a particular day (or the minors - whichever I play first), the game tells me all the games for the day have been played. It seems I am able to only manage one team's game per day, and the others must be autoplayed.
I created a new manager and assigned him to the AAA Iron Pigs, thinking that was the issue - no luck. I also attempted to toggle the game options between AI and human - still no love. I then toggled commissioner on/off for each manager - same result.
Can I play out different games on the same day - with human manager(s)?
For instance, can I manage a game for the Reading team, then the Iron Pigs, then the Phillies on the same day in the same game world?
Any help/insight here would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi Waltzie,

Welcome to OOTP! It's a bit overwhelming when you first get into it, but as you figure things out, you'll absolutely love it.

I think what you need to do is disable the "play out games in the background function."

So, when you're on a given day and you go to play out one of your games by clicking on the MANAGE button, on the Game Options screen down in the bottom left corner (may need to scroll down) you'll see a drop-down for "Simulate World in Background". If that's set to Yes, then all the other games for that day will get played out while you are managing your game - including minor league games. If you set that to No, only the game you are managing will get played, and you should be able to switch to the other minor league games and manage those after you're done. Then you can just sim out the remaining games or advance a day and OOTP will auto-sim them for you.

I think that should work for you - give it a shot and hope it helps!

Thanks for the info - but I cannot seem to find the drop down you speak of - from which screen do I access it? I seem to remember what yo are referring, but I cannot locate it now for the life of me. I need more specific guidance....thanks again for your efforts.

Go into the first game you want to play that day. The first screen you should see is the Options & Preview screen where you can set lineups. It's on that screen, in the bottom left (it's the last option in the list).

Yep - what Fyrestorm said...

1) From the "Scores & Schedule" screen, find the game you want to play out and click on "MANAGE" or "Watch Game"
2) On the next screen, the "Simulate World" drop-down is on the "Options & Preview" page - bottom left corner. Set it to "No (disables Baseball News Network)".

hey Waltzie just remember there is no cure for the addiction to the game and proudly addicted ... have fun and just so you know I been playing since 2000-01 and I still learn new tricks or ideas to tinker around with the teams .... everybody has their own way of doing things of which is one of MANY reasons why this game is absolutely amazing.
