OOTP NFL / NBA Games ?
OOTP has MLB Baseball and now with FHM NHL Hockey. Are there any future plans to expand to NFL Football and NBA Basketball games?
I think they would be very popular and a lot of fun. Lou |

Hopefully OOTP will eventually make games for the NBA & NFL.I believe the NFL game would be a huge success.

I couldn't agree more about the NFL game.
I played EA Sports Head Coach on the PS3 for a couple of years ago and it was a great game that had potential to get much better. I would greatly enjoy the NFL because of the roster size and cap moves that would need to be made. I would toy with a NBA game but the limited number of players and the kooky salary cap would take some of the appeal away for me. I have FHM and it looks to have promise. But it's going to take a long time for me to find it truly playable. The sooner OOTP gets going for the others the better! |

Last year OOTP Developments admitted to be interested in developing other sports games.
I think it would be a big mistake too start these games from scratch. Maybe a better option would be too obtain rights to some current sports games and build them into the OOTP mold. |

I guess I'm not sure how OOTP would go about it.I just think there's a need for an NBA OOTP style game.As for the NFL,just imagine an OOTP style game with teams dating back to the 1940's maybe the 1930's.That game would be instantly popular!

Markus has stated many, many times over the years that he has no interest in American Football and doesn't even know all of the rules. For a game to be on par with OOTP quality-wise, he'd have to be as passionate about it as he is baseball.

I don't think Marcus is involved with the hockey game so if they decide on a pro football game it would be more of the same. Money talks and if they can make money on a pro football game ,I don't see a problem.

Hey guys.I don't know what OOTP's policy is,If they've already stated a lack of interest in NBA or NFL games I hope in the future the right circumstances will allow OOTP to give it a second look.
I know that games have problems, especially when they're new.I still believe OOTP has the best concept for what these games should be. This past year with OOTP 14 I've simmed the 1971 season and now the 1949 season, both at a slower pace.I think I'm enjoying this more than real Baseball or at least it's close.I've also simmed other seasons quickly just to see what results I would get. Man just think if OOTP could organize the right group of people to do similar for the NHL,NBA and oh yes the NFL. OK please forgive the rant,I just thought this was a great idea. All the best! Lou |

Acquiring something else would be a major disaster. If OOTP adds other sports it should be built from ground up like OOTP is/was, and FHM is being done. FHM needs a lot, but the core is there and it will become great. Why? Because they are taking their time and building it their way, not taking something else. In depth management sims don't become great over night or in their first version. I feel FHM's biggest problem is customer impatience. A lot of us are spoiled on OOTP. FHM will get there. Well, it's being built from the ground up as far as I know. Yes, Francis has been working on it for a while, but when it comes out it will be version 1. There has been no previous version of this game on the market that I'm aware of.
Just my opinion, but that's starting from scratch and building a brand new game, not acquiring an already established game. |
