Position Player Fatigue - Do Innings Played Matter?

So, I believe I saw in the OOTP 13 forums that there was no difference between playing a single inning vs an entire game when it comes to position player fatigue. I hadn't seen anything on the subject for OOTP 14 that I can recall, so I wanted to ask the question here.

Does it matter whether I leave my starters in for 1 inning, 6 innings, or 9 innings for a game with regards to fatigue? Is the only benefit to replacing starters in blowouts the reduced injury risk, or am I shaving off some innings of fatigue as well?

i'd be interested to know this as well.
I'm playing out my games and i'm up to August 1st in the season. Incredibly, my catcher's fatigue almost never goes down and he's started almost all games. In fact most guys are at 100% every day and can start every game. Once in a while it dips a bit if I have a long stretch without a day off, but my guys can mostly play day in and day out, all 9 innings.

I play my starters in every game anyways. Every player can play everyday. Its just in todays world managers like to give the part time players some time on the field as well. Same goes for pitchers for in todays world managers only allow pitchers to hit close to 100 for the game before pulling pitcher out. Pitchers used to go 150 to 160 pitches a game. Its all in the managing the game aspects which has become accepted in the game of baseball today.

My team has played 10 games without a day off now and all my position players are 100% rested, catchers included. Position player fatigue is set to normal. Is it supposed to be like that?

Just curious but what is the average age of your players? And does the game take this into effect? I'm currently running my online team with a strict 6 man rotation and a pitch count of 100 or 120 pitches so they don't get tired, I never thought that my positional subs may never see the field though.

I'm not sure how it really woks but I seem to remember a conversation that the cumulative effect of extended playing is accounmted for and that late season injuries are more likely.

Maybe I'm wrong because I rememebr seeing this 4? 5? years ago.

It stays at 100% until a player needs rest. You can however let it keep going down if you keep playing them.

10 games without a day off for a position player shouldn't he too much but the C is a different story. So did the same catcher start all 10 games? If so he should be tired. With modern day setting IIRC a C will become tired after 5 straight starts.

The other thing with catchers is OOTP doesn't take into account a night game followed by day game for a catcher where IRL most teams, if not all, rest a C if he catches the night game followed by a day game. To OOTP it is just two games in two days.

I had it at high now and player actually are getting tired. Not sure however when it's time to rest them. Seems like the cpu takes them out of the line up even if they are just few percent under 100. Anybody knows whats the best way to handle this?

Thanks I will set mine to high as well at the All Star Break of my season. Not sure about the AI switching out the players even at 99% or so (which I've also seen). I play my games out individually so I review the lineup before each game and can catch it.

The AI considers any player at less than 100% fatigue "tired", and therefore replaces him with the "If Starter Tired" option on the depth chart, unless that option is already playing another position in that game. I roll with that, since position players tend to stay at 100% long enough to get plenty of games played that way, and I've seen players with fatigue under 50% or so get injured far too often. It also gets the subs some playing time. Replacing the starter at 99% works well for me, I'd let the AI handle it, then set the lineup to your liking with the substitute player in for that game.
