Building a complete QS and have questions

Hey. I'm in the process of creating a historical 1990 QS with full MiLB rosters included. So far, I have all the player stats downloaded and everything from AAA to most of Short Season A transferred over to an Excel workbook. Anyway, I have a few questions that I would like to have answered before I get around to creating the Master.CSV file and neutralized stats.

1) What exactly do I do with all the fielding stats? Do I tailor the master file so the positional experience matches what the player did up to that point in real life? Is that a good idea, or should I leave it at zero and manually change each player once they're all imported? And what else should I know about fielding stats? It looks like I have about 70,000+ lines to sift through right now.

2) What do the pitch ratings in the master file mean? Do they even matter other than giving the pitcher's repertoire?

3) Does the "draft value" rating matter? I don't want to go through the trouble of assigning ratings to about 1000 players for the 1991 draft and then discover it was all for nought. If it does matter and given the fact that I want to simulate reality to some extent and have Brien Taylor be the #1 overall pick in '91, what would a good rating be for him?

4) I really don't know a proper way of assigning neutralized stats to all these players given that I don't have park factor data and all that. I was thinking about using SPCMs in the formulae to find appropriate stats based on a player's level in the system during a given year. For example, HR at AAA * .8 or something like that to give the neutralized stat total and then let the historical league total stat modifiers handle everything else (I think that's what they're called - I rarely played historical before beginning this project). If there's a better way, I would like to know.

5) Also, I have a lot of player data now for the Independent league teams of the early to mid 1990s. From a cursory look, it seems to be somewhat equivalent to high A during that era. At some point, I could probably create an add-on with this data, so I might as well ask now. What should the league prestige level be in 1993, 1998, and 2000? What about SPCMs? FA rules? Suggestions?

To anyone who answers me, thank you for your help. It truly is appreciated. Rob

Suggestions?
Yeah, don't do something like this by yourself. It takes way too much time and effort. I hope to have the master.csv file finished before Christmas. If you want to do something as a lone wolf, stick with individual draft classes. Over time, it could blossom into something worthwhile. BTW, if and when I finally complete this, there should be full draft classes for 1990-1992 and possibly 1993 to go along with it.
