Add a "do not use as starting pitcher" option

FFS.

The stupid AI just started a reliever in a do or die Game 5 with my ACE well rested and set to take his turn. OFC, I lost. Even if said ace came down with a case of emergency food poisoning and couldn't spend any time off the can, I have two other starters that can be used, in the bullpen.

So freakin POed right now.

I thought you could do it in individual player strategy... I know the feature is a but cumbersome, but I have used it when I pitcher I don't want starting appears in the Starters list...

also, I have found that AI is not bad at selecting relievers and make them starters. One day my closer was suddenly in the starting rotation, I got mad at AI, went and change to only use as closer, I think I might have even fired the pitching coach :-).

later during the year, when one of my starter went down, I thought why not. the guy turned into a 5+ WAR pitcher, 3 time all-star, even winning the pitcher of the year award once...

It's not that. This pitcher is a 2 pitch reliever who's ratings are 100/59/62 with a stamina of 94.

The issue is it skipped a perfectly healthy Noah Syndergaard with 100/76/98 ratings, 58 stamina, 4 plus plus pitches, who wasn't tired, and was on turn to start Game 5 of the LDS. And if for whatever reason you want to construct in your head to say he wasn't available - I had Zack Wheeler sitting in the bullpen (not part of my 3 man playoff rotation) with 84/77/76 ratings, 57 stamina, and 4 plus pitches. Like... it doesn't make ANY sort of sense. At all. I lost a playoff series because of this.

This is why I used to play out every playoff game.

my all-star had 2 pitches, so same thing (not sure what the rating means in variation). still Weird that your pitching coach would change your pitching order like that without letting you know first, so you could adjust. I never had this happen, and I never play my games... also never saw AI use a 5 man rotation for playoffs.

edit: so your pitching coach told you before the playoff serie he was sitting your 84/77/76 ratings, 57 stamina pitcher? and you had no problem then?

No, lol. I sim each series. So I had no idea it happened until I looked at the boxscore.

It went

Harvey-Syndergaard-Garcia-Harvey-reliever

Thanks for the screenie, I never thought I'd need to use that for pitchers, but apprently the AI is even more horrid then I thought >.>

interesting. never saw AI change the rotation through the playoff, except with injury. actually i hate fact that AI uses a 3 man rotation in a 5 game serie in modern day. your 4th best pitcher should have been used in game 4.

i sim all series, i just make sure who my pitching coach has in rotation before i start it, but again i would have missed this since it seems your coach made a last minute change...

The fact that the reliever has a Stamina score of 94 makes him seem like a perfectly resonably option to be a starter.

Doesn't mean it is the best decision, just that it is not autmatically ridiculous.

I don't run inti this because I don't sim my games, but simming is ALWAYS going to create frustrations like these.

Yes, but does it work in 14 le receveur?

Player strategy never worked in 13 if you forced a Pitcher to play a role
