The All-Purpose Box Scores Thread

I'll lead things off with an extra-inning thriller. (Both teams AI-controlled.)

Quite surprising to see no double switches or defensive switches at all.

That really depends on the OP's league settings. He may have settings that dictate the norm to be 14 pitchers and 11 position players, seeing as both teams used only three bench players each and the Reds used eight relievers.

I'm really surprised it ended going as long as it did because that hit differential (26-12) usually would dictate a blowout.

Also, interestingly, the game time noted on there is 5:55. Not sure if anyone caught that. haha

Infractions: 0/1 (1)
And there were 12 fans left to see the ending.

According to OOTP itself, OOTP MLB play (modern and historical) outnumbers OOTP fictional play three to one.

Five thousand thanks for a non-modder? I never thought I'd see the day. Thank you for your support.

I have rosters set to 12 position players, so both teams did keep a potential position player on the bench. Perhaps someone was injured...

Not a boxscore, but something I'm not sure I've seen before. Zi-jun Chio, a 33 year old third baseman, is a five-time All Star, so he's one of the better players in the league, and he's always had some power. On April 20 he has a big game, 3 for 3 with 3 HR and 5 RBI. So on April 21, what does he do for an encore? Hits 3 HR again! He went 3 for 4 with 3 HR, 4 RBI. So in the space of two days he's 6 for 7 with 6 home runs. Throw in his three walks in that time and his triple slash for the two games works out to .857/.900/3.429, for an OPS north of 4.000.

I've seen tons of 3 HR games, and the occasional 4 HR game, but I've never seen someone do it two days in a row.

Were the position players that didn't appear in the game both catchers?

IIRC, one team left a catcher on the bench, the other had an injured player.

a 21 inning 1-0 game in my online league

200+ pitches is a lot, even for 51

fwiw (almost nothing), I live in Maine, about 30 minutes away from L.L. Bean's flagship store/home offices. So it's cool that they're in your league!
