International Free Agents?

Just bought the game a few days ago and am currently about half way through my first season. I've found a stud international free agent but I can not offer him a contract. Do you have to wait until the offseason to sign international free agents?

No he was just generated as an international free agent. He has no contract. I had my scout generate a report on him and he was placed on my short list but I can not offer him a contract.

Ohhh. I see. You need to go into the player profile, hit action, and offer contract should be there. If its not it's probably a bug.

But that guy is a future 40 HR hitter.

Can I ask what setting you have to get so many decent international FA? I'm lucky if I get 2 or 3 each year. Some years the highest has 3 stars..

You're right, at a second look. That's one good class. What are your settings Snarf?

My classes have normally 1 5 star 3 4 star 6-9 3 star and the rest 1-2 star.

well there are 153 players left in the pool and 6 have recently signed, My guess it is a very large league (4X the number of teams is the highest number you can produce in the settings) My guess is there are more good players than "normal" just because of the sheer quantity of players, More Teams, more players....the % of good players is most likely the same but because there are so many of them Probability dictates there will be many more good players.

My league is a fantasy league 2 sub leagues with 2 sub divisions of 10 teams each for a total of 40 teams. The leagues are split by hemisphere with the divisions by continent. I put the setting to "a lot" which is 160 players total.

Just finished the season and I can still not sign them though. Action button from the player page gives the same options as the right click menu shown in the screen shot. The fact that the AI teams are signing them makes it even worse

AH HAH! Finally figured it out. I set the minimum age to 18 thinking that was the age players had to be before signing a major league contract. set it back to 0 andd it finally let me offer him a contract. Now it's time to go fill up on cheap yung uns before the rest of the teams can
