Anyone Else Concerned?!?
Okay so people complaining about small issues before the actual game was released is a pain and we all know what to expect from a brand new game from a small company making its first title of FHM.
I must say I am a huge Maple Leafs fan and the things that make hockey incredible like the races to the puck in a one goal game or the atmosphere a fight brings to the game. Even in our case being over the cap we had to sort some stuff out before hitting the ice. I preordered FHM the moment it was available and watch the development since before the 2012 release date was originally set. Features had to be put into the game, simulations have to run at a semi accurate level, Scouting is a huge factor plus the sheer amount of time making menus, functions, etc work perfectly in many different computer configurations. That said its no longer Beta and instead of claiming the game is broken we get Beta patches that users have to test before it becomes an official one...I really hope this doesn't continue for very long. I know development is hell but its time for users to run the simulation and build the FHM community like they did with Ootp that cannot happen until the game is playable. Stats don't need to be spot on but I need the ability to handle my coaching staff. I need to be able to shop a player around or at the very least negotiate a semi ridiculous trade. Fighting is a part of hockey and isnt a huge concern with extending the release date this long and having the program out for the time it has it should be made clear if this issue will be moved to FHM 2015. Personally I would love to see a forum post stuck to the top that included all the devs showing gratitude for sticking with it and buying the product blah blah but mainly to tell customers what they will get in this version. Yes patches might include something but we need a list. Fighting Coaching Scouting RFAs etc. Just be honest and give us maybe a timeline or a projected timeline. Remember devs we bought a Hockey simulator...We are the 1% |

I like the last sentence the most. I want it as real as it gets.

The reason we released the actual patch as beta version is simple (and to be honest not very uncommon, OOTP did it in the past and a lot of other Companies do it as well), we don't want to force people to install it, we just want people who want to try/test it give a chance to do so. We tested is as good as possible internally and made sure it is a (big) improvement over the last public build and early feedback shows, that it seems to be the case.

Also, my only ask is that perhaps we have a little more of a presence from the company on the forums :P |

I'm not concerned. I'm disappointed with the UI but at the same time there is a lot of great stuff to come with this sim in the first version. This recent patch has brought some fun back into the game we are all starting to see it take shape.
I just hope in the second version the UI is revamped. We've witnessed some of the growing pains for a new stat based franchise. It has a lot to overcome but I have no doubt if given the time, FHM will be the best thing that has happen to us hockey fans.
