If 2013 is abandoned without an update--if we get something like "well, we tried, but I have to move on to the 2014 version"...I sure as heck won't buy 2014. Fool me once, shame on you...

Have you not read any of Brad's posts on this board?

Here is a summary:

Sebastian got caught up with releasing FHM and eliminating or fixing many issues with the game, so he had no time for iOOTP.

Once Sebastian began to have the time for iOOTP, he first had to a) update the screen resolution to Retina; b) enlarge the screen to fit the iPhone 5, and while doing all of this, he has to deal with a new version of X-code, which is what is used to create the apps.

With all of this, I will be happy with a purely cosmetic iPhone 5/Retina release sometime before next season.

Another thing. It might be more worth it for Sebastian to ditch iOOTP 2013 and begin working on 14, because by the time an update is finished, it might be too late to start working on 14 and make it a worthwhile upgrade. I'd rather have a much improved 14 than an updated 13 and a 14 that is just 13 with a new color scheme.

Finally, after everything, once an app or update is released it takes one to three weeks for Apple to review and release it.

So don't expect any update for iOOTP 13 for a while.

Caught in 2 minds here in regards to this thread and many other of the same nature ....

My first feeling is always "don't feed the troll" as I'm never sure if this guys and a few others are on a wind-up.

The alternative view is that they are all paying customers so their opinions are as valid as anyones ... but maybe a bit of patience and understanding is needed.

I work in projects where stuff is always blocking me from achieving my end goals .. frustrating but completely out of my hands .. sadly you just get used to it !!

All I'd say is moaning about this every other week won't change a thing.
This years game has had it's fait share of hiccups but they have all been explained.
Next years game will be immense as I honestly think that by then the "powers that be" will have to add resource to cater for both FHM and iOOTP rather than sharing the same key guys and having one game suffer as a result.

I've got faith .....

Edit : Just got an email from OOTP Development News ..

"iOOTP Update in the Works
Our iOOTP development team is working hard to add Retina and native iPhone 5 support to iOOTP Baseball 2013, the update will be released later this year.

In before Brad C says, "We have not abandoned iOOTP. Sebastian is working on an update."

I've more or less given up hope on an update this year. I'm just hoping that there will even be an iOOTP 14.

There will undoubtedly be an iOOTP 2014. I really hope there will be an iOOTP 2013 update this calendar year (i.e., by 12/31/13), but my assumption is that it's worthwhile for Sebastian to do this work now since he would have to do it for iOOTP 2014 anyway. So, at a minimum he will want to implement Retina display support and iPhone 5 support since we won't even be able to release iOOTP 2014 without those things. The question is whether that will be done by 12/31/13 and, if it is, how long it will take Apple to approve it for release.

Waiting

I check the forum frequently for some positive news and there is not really any positive news to read. I would just point out that we have been waiting for an update that takes advantage of the larger iPhone screen for over a year now (the iPhone 5 is well over a year old now and has been discontinued by Apple). It would have been nice to see an update at some point during the past year. I'm not mad and I don't want to argue with anyone....I have just kind of quit playing the game while waiting for the update.

You're right, I shouldn't be complaining, after all, we've received such great customer service for iOOTP 2013...*cough* *bull***** *cough*.

I think the problem is that you don't stop complaining and expecting things to change, even after constantly receiving the same result. I just think that you should hold out on the complaining. Honestly, there are greater tragedies in the world than not getting an update for iOOTP 13. So just chill, it's all good man.

Besides, I think I speak for many people when I say I'd rather see a better iOOTP 2014 than a relevant 13 update.

You'd rather get a better iootp2014 than a 2013 update? Sure. What's the free upgrade policy?

Don't get me wrong, I love playing this game, otherwise I'd write it off as a bad purchase, slam it with a bad review, then move on to something else, instead of taking the time and effort to come here, contribute ideas, and generally kick up a fuss about fixing it.
