Rick Stillwell has pitched a no hitter for my 2026 Chicago Cubs. Last one to accomplish the feat was Mark Prior in 2015.
When Stillwell is on he has the kind of stuff to threaten a no hitter at any time. On many occasions he's gone 6 or 7 innings before giving up a hit. He throws in the high 90's peaking at about 101 mph on occasion. K's a lot of batters (237 in 207 innings last year) and doesn't walk a lot of guys. His weakness is giving up the long ball. This game was in Wrigley with the wind blowing out at 19 mph to RF facing a Reds lineup with three left-handed boppers. Not the kind of day I thought it would happen. Stillwell walked 3, K'd 4 on a 106 pitches and has certainly been more dominant in a lot of his starts. But luck and defense were with him on this day. A CF (below average defender) called up to replace my normal two CFs, both injured, made a running\stretching catch in the late innings that, as the play unfolded, I figured would surely split the gap for extra bases. It sure is a sweet feeling, I love this game. |

Awesome man, congrats!
The only one I ever managed was a couple versions back, it was a 10 inning no hitter in the playoffs by Cliff Lee IIRC. I couldn't believe it, especially since I don't manage very often. |

I know the feeling of having to wait for a no-hitter and it is such a relief to finally get one and nearly want to have a party to celebrate. I been playing since 2001(RL) and just got my first no hitter a month ago.
Congratulations in getting your no hitter. take a day off you earned it

No-hitters are an odd thing in OOTP. You'll get three or four one year, then go a few years without one. I've never gone more than four without seeing one, although it took me almost 20 years to see a perfect game.
Ed Correa pitched two no-nos during his rookie year of '85 with the White Sox...and his record was 7-14 with a 5.02 ERA! Nolan Ryan has at least three that I remember. Matt Keough had the first perfect game I saw in 1980, and another no-hitter in '81. Dave Stieb has 3 in his career. So, OOTP is not only sporadic about when they happen, but about who gets 'em, too. Everybody from superstars to scrubs, from what I've seen. |
