player retire
under League Setup/Roster Rules I have max age set to 42. but in milestone watch I have players up to age 48 sitting waiting to play, they will not get on a team at that age, why wont any of them retire.

And mpejkrm has some validity but is not entirely accurate in that the "OOTP professionals," what he terms "Markus and Co.," rarely reply directly in the forums to questions (and don't get your hopes up over PM'ing them, either). It's not that they don't want to, I think; it's a matter of the volume of requests and their limited time. However, you do see them being quite proactive here, for a short while, just after the release of new versions and patches. As to your question. I assume you have your age limit set in Rules, Roster Rules, not Options, Player Options, Created Players Age. If so, see what the manual says below. You don't say when you set your age limit, so if you just did so, the mass retirement that you expect may not take place until the offseason. Let's leave it at that for now, until you can come back with more details.

How long have the 48 yr olds been Free Agents? 1 season, 3 seasons? Sometimes players don't want to retire. Manually retire them if need be.

Did you change your Aging Speed settings so that players stick around longer?
I'm not an OOTP Professional, but I did stay in a Holiday Inn Express last night. |

I would guess that there's nothing built into whatever triggers players' retirement that takes maximum roster ages into account. After all, you could have multiple leagues with different maximum ages, or no limit at all.
