A player reached on an error in this instance:

What exactly happened here?

He has a swinging strike but reached on a first baseman's error receiving a throw. I don't get it! I was trying to run through my head what could have possibly happened on that pitch, and I have no idea. Please tell me what I don't know!

my guess is there is a missing line (1-1) for the next pitch. odd for sure

That seems like a good explanation. I sure would like to know what happened because it was the play that eventually led to the only run of a 1-0 game in game four of my dynasty's championship series.
