Unexpected crashes
I am going to try to post the issue here first due to the fact that something simple may need to be done. If the crashes can't be resolved here through the knowledge of other users, I will submit a tech ticket.
My problem is this. I have created a fictional league, with fictional players and I am in the moth of July right now. I have had numerous crashes after a certain amount of time, regardless of outcome, achievements unlocked, or events occurring. But most of the time the crash occurs during a save after a very well pitched game by one of my pitchers. Also, I also have a quick start major league game where I am the GM of the Orem Owlz. I get the same issues, as mentioned above. If I forget to save, I may have to play the same games over a couple of times to get past the "crash" point. What I am wondering, could having OOTP 13 still installed on my computer be causing some kind of conflict with the files, even though OOTP 13 and OOTP 14 are in seperate files? Thanks. |

Not sure what's causing your conflict, but I don't think it's coming from 13.
I've had 3 versions installed together at different times and never had a problem. Not to say that isn't it, but it shouldn't cause a conflict. Last edited by Bluenoser; 06-22-2013 at 10:14 AM. |

I have v11, v12, v13, v14 on my computer. Zero issues.
Some suggestions: Delete unnecessary files from your league files. There are several threads on this. File bloat can contribute to crashes Do a complete HDD defrag. OTTP fragments files quickly. I defrag 2-3 times a week. This utility is very good. MyDefrag v4.3.1 Check that all drivers and updates are current. Check that the HDD with OOTP on it is not filled up. I'm under the impression that above 75% fill the performance can degrade.

Thanks RchW. I will try a defrag. Hopefully that will solve the issue. I know all my drivers are current and up to date. Also, I have OOTP14 on a 250 gb internal hdd with only that and OOTP13 on it, well, along with required system files.
