General Feedback/Thoughts

Just downloaded this game as soon as I came across it, been a dedicated guy to ehm ever since the first version the created, all were highly successful. I am absolutely devoted to these games they're awesome and I spend a large portion of time with them because they have that ability to pull you in.

My first take from this game was that it was good not great and I could easily tell it is work in progress which can only lead to better things. I enjoyed playing it and I know with a few improvements I will be hooked on it.

Here's some of the positives I took from it:

-Editable Leagues, Teams, Settings, Rules, etc.
-Playable Historic Leagues
-Player Customization
-Leagues accurate with players and teams
-Sim to basically any date in time
-Game Summary Interface
-League Homepage Display

Here's my input in some things I think should be added:
-Different, more maneuverable game interface, I found it hard to get around set my lineups, had to delete emails too frequently, found it hard to accomplish things quickly
-More leagues, now I know by the time this game is finished there will be many more leagues and players and they will be playable but for now for than half of them don't play any games
-National Competitions
-Ability to create international and club events around the world
-Revamp Player Editing, guys can be all 20's yet still not be placed in the lineup somehow.
-Top NHL EHM 2007's database, lets go down to USA/Canada AAA Leagues and High School even Russia has the Youth Hockey League, it takes time to develop all these leagues and make them playable but it would be 100% worth it

I understand this is a work in progress and I am extremely excited for where it is headed, just wanted to give my input.

True, the game feels a little clunky right now and there's barely an ease of use to discover.

- Too many clicks to navigate around, sometimes clicks don't work very well. Maybe it would work better if we get keyboard shortcuts thats navigate you straight to pages you use a lot.

- When you Hover over buttons there is no 'Pointer' cursor what makes it even more difficult to read when you should click.

- Most parts of the content can use some extra paddings and margins to give it more breathing-room.

- The news items can use some default templates (layouts) for each item, A trade update for example, should get a template where the players from team A are on the left side and team B players on the right side , this way you can see very quickly whats going on instead of reading the entire story.
Also all the text benefits from line-heights what improves the readability of the content.
Maybe an extra feature or checkbox we can activate that delete all the old stories automatically. News items older than one week - boom , will get deleted.

- In general the game ins't very responsive layout based. And the structure (naming) of pages, tables and content are pretty bad to pick-up on. This makes it very difficult to Theme-/Skinn for this game from the stylesheet. I know this is only Version 1.0 of FHM so we shouldn't judge too much about this part until we're a few versions ahead.

To be honest I don't like the game summery that much, right now it's period overall based. It could be better if they did scoring and penalty apart from each other.

Scoring summery:
1st Period:
- goals - assists
2nd Period:
- goals - assists
3rd Period:
- goals - assists
----
Penalty summery
1st Period:
- 2min ….
2nd Period:
- 2min …
- 2min …
3rd Period:
- 2min …
----
Goalie summery

Just like they do on NHL.com

The good news is that Jeff has mentioned in another thread that the UI is something that they'll be re-working over the summer.

P.s. I really like the layout used in those screenshots. They're simple and easy to read. It'd be neat to see something along those sort of lines in FHM.

Totally agree with layout screenshot that should definitely be something implemented into the game.

Also the scoring seems to be a little low from my point of view and too predictable, there's been a day with 5 games all ending 3-2 or 2-1.

Thats right they're still working on all that, scores, injuries, trade values, draft picks, waivers and more realistic contracts.
