wOBA calculation?
Looking at some double split batting numbers, I found a player with
1 PA, 0 AB, 1 BB, 0 IBB, 1.000 OBP, 1.000 OPS but .000 wOBA According to Wikipedia's formula for wOBA, this should be a .720. Is this a bug? |

It could be that the wOBA result is 1.000 and you can't see the one. I know that doesn't jive with the formula. Maybe Markus weights things differently. It could be that it doesn't get calculated for splits either?

There may well be more than one formula for wOBA. I know that there are a few for WAR, and Markus uses the one he likes best.
So the formula in OOTP may not be the one you're seeing at Wikipedia. |

Markus definitely uses the value of .720 for a walk......my guess is that he has the control to avoid dividing by 0 tied to AB instead PA, so the wOBA of a player won't get calculated until he has an AB.....just a guess, though...
