"Reset League" Button.....

What exactly does this button do?

Last night, I decided to restart my league with the Tigers, so I hit the button. A good two or three minutes after, I decided I didn't want to restart it, so I went back to my Tigers team to see what happened. Turned out everything looked normal to me. All my players in the majors were still there, and had the stats up to the previous season. I had hit the button right at the beginning of the offseason.

So....once again I ask my question, what exactly does this button do? I honestly couldn't find anything that it tweaked with, and I didn't find anything about it in the manual.

seas

Since you hadn’t yet started the season, there was little to reset. I guess all past stats remain intact.

If you press this while having played part of a season any rating changes that happen during that time stay too which always seemed odd to me. Almost defeats the purpose of that button in my mind.

I think it does more than just reset the league...I dont think that player gains in talent are erased. I have tried to sim and resim leagues for general power rankings and it seems that by the 3rd or 4th reset the prospect loaded teams (with nothing at ML level) have matured and are winning divisons.

I do think its as true of a "reset" as one might think.

Yeah thats what I was trying to say Better to reload the league because it keeps the player development changes and if you have simmed a fair distance in to the season you can greatly affect how prospects turn out. It is almost like giving them a free season to develop that doesn't count against their age. At the same time a guy may get severely injured, lose a ton of ratings and that is kept as well.

If you really want to completely restart a league, select "Reset, Release All, Draft" and all the players will be dumped into the FA pool for a new initial draft.

The reset also wipes out the transactions, injuries, etc. from the main pages, but not from the player pages, so you'll need to touch them up or put them back into the text files if you want to maintain the history. This is a bit of a pain if you've started the regular season and had a whole off-season that was tracked - you'll lose it if you don't have backups.

So by pressing it before I did anything in the offseason, I pretty much did nothing to the league, correct?
