Storylines?

I have read on other people's dynasties that they have Storylines turned on and I was wondering where do you find that in the settings?

Is it only available in certain game modes?

I chose Quick Start Game mode. Is that maybe why I can't find it?

I don't think you can do so at this stage, although I believe some thought has been given to providing editing capability in the future. For now, cody8200 has been asking for help in writing new storylines; you may want to read through these threads and contact him for details.

Thanks for the information. I am primarily interested in order to add flavor to my sci-fi league, so my storylines would not fit regular leagues (WTF? A player has been injured by a station atmosphere leak? Or run over by a hover glider? Been victimized by a ten-tentacle-beast from Tennerson X? - you get the gist).

I'll patiently wait till OOTP 18 so we can do our own... ;-)

You know if this game doesn't meet your rare high standards, maybe you should find another that does.

Your sarcastic remarks that constantly bash the game and developers are getting old real fast.

There must be some water under this bridge that I have missed.

Anyway, AstaSyneri, better work on the "sci" portion of your sci-fi in order to adequately explain how one can be run over in space by a hover glider.

hrrr. Neither meant as sarcasm, nor as bashing the game. I don't know where you get that. It's a known fact by now that features get added to OOTP all the time, it just takes a little while. Storylines are interesting, but certainly not necessary, so I assume they don't take top priority, hence the "OOTP 18" joke (I did add a smiley :P).

In the space station, obviously! ;-) It's like I spent more than 40 seconds on my examples... Real storylines would need some more thought.

Hek Hexapumas C Antone Garrisseet got crushed by an incoming Gallente Myrmidon class Battleship while taking a space walk.

How's that? ;-) Not much of a storyline, of course...
