I am importing a photo of myself to be used as my manager photo. For some reason it keeps "shrinking" the width of the photo...

1. how can i fix this?
2. Where are the "fictional" coach photo's stored so I can see the ideal size of the image file?

They would be located here (Windows 7):

\Documents\Out of the Park Developments\OOTP Baseball 14\saved_games\Federal Baseball League.lg\news\html\images\person_pictures

or here:

\Documents\Out of the Park Developments\OOTP Baseball 14\saved_games\Federal Baseball League.lg\news\html\images\profile_pictures

Not sure about the photo size; the game seems to still be using 90 x 135 for some pictures and 170 by 154 for others (all in .png format). Try the larger size, maybe.

'rod, I've seen you discuss this elsewhere. Could you give a quick rundown of how pictures are handled in this version? Below are screenshots of the two folders in a league that I keep handy at work for, uh, analysis.

If what you said just now is true, and I have no cause to doubt it, then why are these pics, particularly the coach photo, sized differently?

The 170x154 are Facegens...that's their default size..
Real pics should be 170x255 in order to look good.
90x135 works and used to be the old jpg default size, but as you've probably noticed they are quite small in the profile pic..so it's a matter of personal taste really.
Real pics can probably be any size as long as that 90x135 stays proportional. If it isn't proportional, you'll get stretched or shrunk Height/Width pics..

14 uses bigger photos? Just confirming so I can resize all my photos I use in a fictional league.

No. Not that I know of.

The sizes have been that way for a few versions. But previous to ootp13 170x255 didn't work to well on the gameplay screen, but worked great on the players screen.
Profile pics (which were introduced in ootp13), are facegens and are 170x154. Those are stored in the saved game's profile_pictures folder and are only used on the players profile page I believe.
Then there's 90x135 facegens and they are stored in the person_pictures folder along with Real photos. They are used elsewhere in the game cause 170x150 profile pics are not proportional to 90x135 and would not resize properly.
Jpg's and png's always stay the same size as one created them. They are used everywhere and resized to fit and should be proportional to 90x135.
You can make yours bigger if you want though..

I think I get this now. The game makes 90x135 versions of player pics for news articles, leader boards, and other pages. It makes the 170x154 size for profiles (see the first two screen prints below).

Now, since OP wanted his own picture in the manager's profile (third screen print), would not 170x154 (or, if bigger, something in proportion like 340 x 308) be correct? The reason is, 170 x 255 is actually the same proportion as 90 x 135.

You've got it correct and yes he could make it 170x154 and it wold look like this.
