Exhibition Game

Got a real entry level question. If I just want to plan an exhibition game, how would I do this? Does OOTP14 only do league games without a way of just picking a couple teams and playing?

Any team from any league can play any team from any league.

I guess my question was more along the lines of how to start an exhibition game (which game mode) without creating a new owner, league, "world" etc.

OK. After looking for a few days it seems the only way I can just play a game is to create a Quick League and Manager.

Am I missing something?

I have never tried to do that before. Off the top of my head I can't think of a way to easily do it.

Your question isn't really specific enough as to what you want to do, but if I understand you correctly, you can play an exibition game by simply going to your league's setup page and click the edit league schedule button. That will bring up the in-game schedule editor. There you can manually schedule any team vs. any other team and set if for an exibition game.

He wants to pick any two teams to play without having a league. Can't be done. I've been suggesting this forever. Pick the 27 Yankees and the 55 Dodgers (for example) from the Lahman data base and play a game. Would be a great addition. Maybe OOTP 15 but I'm not holding my breath after all these years. :-(

I agree with Mr. McGraw. That is what he is trying to do, and I would love that feature. In fact, it would be a main activity for me when I wanted to spend half an hour relaxing and playing some one-off games.

Its not the main way this game is played but it sure wouldn't hurt to make it possible. At least I think not

This should easily be managed by creating a league for just such a purpose. First, import two teams then play the exhibition game then delete the teams.

Rinse and repeat
