USBL No More: Vancouver Joins NABL

VANCOUVER, CAN (AP)-- The inevitable has finally happened within the United States Baseball League, a team has been placed in Canada. It was announced today that along with Albuquerque, New Mexico being awarded an expansion franchise, Vancouver was awarded the second expansion team.

This marks the first time in the 36 years that a team will not be located within the United States. Thus, the league has changed the name from United States Baseball League (USBL) to North American Baseball League (NABL) effective immediately.

It had been known for many years that Vancouver native and businessman, Roy Ellis was lobbying for a team in Vancouver, but commissioner Thomas Pierson was very adamant against expanding the league outside of the US. However, over the last several years, there was a lot of pressure from the owners to explore the possibility of expanding into Canada. After many discussions and a few votes, the league made it official today by announcing that Vancouver would become the 26th team in the NABL.

Owner Roy Ellis wasted no time announcing the team name and releasing their logo and uniforms. The Vancouver Mountaineers will be based in the Pacific Division and will play their home games at SunCentral Stadium, which has a capacity of 53,400 and had a retractable roof. Look for more information about the Vancouver franchise and the announcement of their General Manager hiring, which is still in the process of wrapping up.

Hey everyone! I'm trying to decide how to go about this dynasty. I want to just play the game, but at the same time I want to move slow enough where I can do reports. So I'm on the fence about it all.

Also, if I do continue with it, would you prefer updates every 2 weeks? monthly?

I've tried and unfortunately failed with a lot of dyasties. What I've learned most of all is this: If you try to please everyone you end up pleasing no one, and worst of all it starts to feel like a job. Dynasties should be fun, format it the way you like, have fun. The readers will come. I'm actually about to ramp up a FIFA 13 dynasty over at OS. Besides OOTP(and baseball), the FIFA series(and football in general) are a big passion of mine. I'm a huge fan of LFC and I'm planning on running with them beginning in 2013-14(simming 2012-13 completely) or with one of the surprise clubs of this year like Real Sociedad in La Liga.
