Facial Types

I've been having this problem for a little while now, but I need to know what category (Caucasian, East Indian, African, Asian, Hispanic, not in that order) to put each of these racial groups in when creating my nations.

Sorry in advance if this is offensive to anyone.

- Native American: Really confused with this one as none really fit. I'm leaning towards East Indian?
- Pacific Islander (Chamorran, Samoan, Hawaiian, etc.): I know the broader category is labelled "Asian and Pacific Islander" but I'm not sure.
- Filipino: The nations.txt file lists anybody with this ethnicity as having a Caucasian face, but I'm again leaning towards East Indian.

I do not think that any facial group in the game represents Native Americans adequately.

The Pacific Islanders I have met vary drastically as well. We have a setting. My advice is to use it.

Filipinos come in three general types: mestizos, morenos and chinitos. A mestizo is half something and may be half anything, so appearances vary widely. Morenos have a fair brown complexion, and chinitos have slanted/almond eyes and look more Asian. Some look Caucasian, some Hispanic, some Asian, some East Indian. Good luck with that one.

That link had some very nice photos, still very tough to say. I'm leaning towards East Indian or Hispanic.

What "setting" are you referring to for Pacific Islanders?

As for Filipinos, I think I'll just divide them up equally into the 4 groups.

I think I'll put Native Americans in East Indian, Pacific Islanders in Asian, and Filipino equally divided into all but African.

Some are, some aren't. It is a distinct racial group (I'm in it), and there really aren't enough of us in professional baseball to worry about it much. We're less than a percent of the total US population, and even with those who consider themselves part Native American, we're still less than two percent. If you put all of us in one city it would be just a bit bigger than Chicago. Do whatever works for you and feel no guilt.

Markus and the OOTP team aren't responsible for the specific "racial faces". Those are generated by the FaceGen program (a third-party program).
