Automotive Manufacturers Baseball League
So, I had an idea for another dynasty and decided to go ahead and give it go.
This dynasty will be unlike my NABA dynasty, which is story driven, and thus is a more slowly evolving world. I will only play in commish mode and report on the leagues events, players and outcomes. I plan for more screen shots then the NABA which has had very little in the way of screen shots. I will be posting reports in 1 month increments, except playoffs, which I will do game by game. The premise: In 1953 Major League Baseball is close to folding, player salaries have spirled out of control and the fans have become disenchanted with the game. In the private sector Auto manufactures are dealing with the out of control cost of advertising. The Ad agencies are bumping cost and make it hard for the companies to turn a respectable profit. So, Major League Baseball has been purchased by the worlds automakers so that the teams themselves become the advertising medium. As a result, most of the teams have been relocated, across the globe, with only 4 teams left Stateside. The new league was christined the Automotive Manufacturers Baseball League or the AMBL. The league began play in 1955. League Setup I will start with setting for 1955. I will be using historical players, with players being imported from any era. OOTP determines player developement. A dispersal draft was used for initial rosters. The league is 2 leagues, 3 divisions, 4 teams. Playoffs have 1 WC. Playoffs breakdown as best of 3, best of 5, best of 7. Only two minor leagues, AA and A ball. All team nicknames were after a model that was built sometime in their history. (Hence why Mercedes is not part of the league, as they use Alphnumeric names, and C230's would sound lame. Lol) All teams were placed were their world HQ is, with following exceptions Seoul, S. Korea had 3 manufactures (Kia, Hyundai, and Daewoo) and thus one of the teams was placed in a comprable S. Korean city. The Big 3 US Auto makers were dispersed to the city in which the model they were named after is built. (Except Corvette, I could not find Bowling Green KY., So I used another plant / city where corvettes have been built.) I brought back AMC to be the 4th member in the US division I also had to move Volvo, for some reason OOTP would not bring up the city that Volvo is headquarter in. I will post League and division make up, along with screen shots of each teams roster shortly Last edited by Koprnkc; 03-28-2013 at 09:08 PM. |

I'd once considered something similar: An industrial type league in the 1950s or so. It'll be fun to see how this develops.
Good luck! |

I always considered the Gremlin to be the ugliest of the AMC products. In a way, if you squint the Matador kinda can look like a Torino. Lol.
Anyway, more teams and rosters coming up |
