Age Modifiers
Hey guys, seeing some of the test results and looking at my own, I'm realizing that I want to change the age modifiers in the game. However, I am reticent to mess with any settings at all, so I could use some advice. New to this, so I was curious what some veterans were finding to keep guys from falling off the cliff too soon.

I use the same ones that I used in v13, ran it in test leagues just to make sure it still worked and it does. A lot of people on the forums have had great results with these

There are a good number of people who feel like the default settings work the best. |

I was told that the age and development system has been tweaked in v14 so using the same values as you did in v13 should I presume yield slightly different results.

I ran two separate test leagues in this years version with the default modifies and the ones I used from last year. Though it is obvious the development has been tweaked I still really liked the results I saw from the modifiers I posted. Whether those mirror modern day baseball the best, well Im not quite sure.
What I did see with those is a few players still performing well into their late thirties and even a couple into their early 40's. With the defaults I rarely saw a career arch similar to a Jeter or Randy Johnson. You can run test sims of both modifies and see which one you like best. |

The ones you posted I actually used in v13 and they did lead to great results. I did have a 'Jeter' like player going well into his late years, I think he was 41 before I finally just couldnt deal with going into another year with my starting 3B being 41 years old, fearing the guy will fall apart on me, so I traded him away.
I read here that it was tweaked and that default was supposed to yield great real-life like results...but, I might as well just go back and use those old settings, same as you posted. Otherwise there is no risk involved......if it becomes to reliable that a guy will crap out in his early thirties, I will just make sure I trade away all 32+ year olds on my squad. Something I already tend to do anyway...well more like 35, but if there is a guy with no real injury history and still going strong at 35 or 36, I should have a dilemma there on there being a real good chance he will have not just 1 good year left, but several, ala Omar Vizquel. That guy went on forever.

Thanks for the settings, I'm gonna try them, I have too many guys starting to suck when they hit 32 or 33.
