Poor Brian Roberts

As many of you may know, Brian Roberts had an awful concussion which forced him to miss a ton of time in 2011 and 2012. Well, early on in 2013 in my game, this happened. I'm probably gonna edit it to a CEI, something I have never actually done before, but in this case I think it should happen. Poor guy.

Yea, but at least it was his knee and not his head. He shouldn't be out for too long.

w/o knowing what the contract is or when it was signed, Roberts did have like a 4-6 year stretch where he was the best 2Bs hitter in the game and a boardline elite OBP guy, j/s

Yeah, there is no accounting for a stretch of prolonged injuries like that. But even giving him that, he was not worth the $40 over four years. He was worth maybe 65-70% of that.

Well, with todays (I realize it was a couple years ago but still) salaries, and his level of production, he was probably underpaid a bit.

while $10m a year sounds like a lot, it really isn't for a guy who hits 50 2Bs a year with .375+ OBP. That's a great leadoff or #2 hitter in my books, but I do know his injuries last 2-3 years have made that a bad contract, but when you sign an ext it's hard to account for injuries IMO.

Just to go a bit OT on you guys for a sec, but I can't get over how great the facegen images look this year. That actually looks like Brian Roberts, although he clearly doesn't have much to smile about these days, either in OOTP or IRL.
