All Ballpark Factors at 1.000

Is anyone else seeing this? All of my parks have 1.000 for all factors. I did a historical start in 2004.

Also, Houston did not move to the AL in 2013 with historic setting enabled. Anyone else have this happen?

Yes. I have been noticing the 1.000 factor thing as well.

This occurred if you used the normalized database.....reported as fixed in the latest patch.....

Ugh, sorry for the stupid question, but what do you mean by normalized database?

When starting a new historical league, the wizard asks if you want ratings based on real stats or neutralized ones......if you pick neutralized, then you are using the neutralized database.....which I always call Normalized....sorry...

Thought you may have meant that. Problem is, I am having the 1.000 problem and I never use neutralized stats. I am using random debut though. Not sure if that has anything to do with it.

Random debut is the culprit.

I can report that it was, in fact, fixed in the latest patch...historical park factors now import properly when using neutralized stats.

Yes ... but now can we get a patch that allows us to import the historical lefty/righty ballpark factors for Avg and HR's???

(sorry to hijack a bit guys, but I've been asking for this one for awhile now.)

Yes, and I've mentioned before that there is probably no way that this is going to happen because the splits are not complete: OOTP uses more than just Avg and HR, so I don't think Markus is going to go for the idea of using incomplete data sets to change park factors. They don't cover lefty/righty splits for doubles and triples, so in all likelihood this will lead to skewed statistical performance for historical leagues. It's probably all or nothing when it comes to adding this functionality.

I do believe it works for batting and pitching but fielding is based on full career.

I don't follow why you say this, when the database is importing park factors for parks going back to 1871, though real historical data isn't accurate in every category back to those dates. Additionally, I'm not talking about L/R ballpark splits for doubles and triples. Only Avg and HR ... Which the game currently DOES have fields for and use in the ballpark edit screen. However, era_ballparks database currently only has import fields for BA,2B,3B,HR. I'm proposing that this SHOULD be LBA, RBA, 2B, 3B, LHR, RHR. The game can already handle it.

By the way, seamheads.com has that historical data nearly complete back to 1919, and some of the data available in prior years as well.
