Regarding a WBC/or other world type tournament

I already have a template set up and ready to go that has leagues in 16 different countries, and every 3 years or so I would just clone the 25 best players in each and place them on their national team. But which would be the best way to setup this league to play out the tournament in?

1) Just create a 17th league before I start the game, with all the 16 national teams.

or 2) Create and delete the league as needed every 3 years in the game?

With #1, wasn't sure if it was possible to just have a dormant league for the years in between tournaments. And with #2 if I just add/delete it as needed, would I lose all the previous history?

Curious as to this also. It would be cool if a dormant league was possible. If option #2 is what you have to go with, isn't there a function to export/import league history. Maybe you could export the league history, delete, and then in three seasons time import that history back into the new WBC?

to do it the way you are doing it, I'm not sure how you would get the players back on their teams after the WBC. I don't think you can have a dormant league either. the way I did it in my link will not wind up with league history for the World Cup but I am ok with that, simply saving the stats and a list of top players will do for now

I will have to check out this import/export league history as well when I run the World Cup for a second time in 3 years. It'd be incredible if I could get the previous World Cup stats along with the regular club stats on player/team pages
