Worst End-of-Season Collapse
I've been playing my Canadian Baseball League for a number of years. I started the league in the 1986 season and now finishing of the 2012 season. I've had a team totally collapse this season - the Cape Breton Capers.
On September 1st: Cape Breton Capers were 75-60, 8 games back of first place in the Atlantic Div. and leading the wild card by 1.5 games. Since then, they've lost 15 straight games. On September 19th: Cape Breton Capers are 75-75, 19.5 games back (cannot win div. now); 10 games back of the wild card. All but knocked from the play-offs. Over the 15-games: Out-scored: 85-40 Shutout: 4 times Extra-inning games: 2 They've only had 1 injury to a SP, otherwise it's a combination of their bullpen and lack of timely hitting. |

That's a depressing free fall. They don't have Josh Beckett on the team handing out chicken and beer do they?

Cape Breton lost 2-1, with an RBI single in the bottom of the 9th. Now have lost 16 in-a-row. I'm thinking their manager will lose his job at the end of the season.

Finally!!! The Cape Breton Capers finally broke their 16-game losing streak. They defeated the St. John's Waves 4-2.
