Commish Mode
So i guess force trade has not been implemented yet.
no big deal but for 35$ i expected even in Beta to watch a simulation of a game, whenever i get to that view it crashes. You literally cannot trade more than one player at a time. I get offers for Tim Connoly from buffalo for some random 35 year old minor league player, when i add a 6th pick into the mix they think they are being robbed... Injuries are at a stupid level right now. Some of these problems require tweaking not a complete overhaul. If your going to charge 35$ and accept payments at this point in development you should provide a functioning game or at least a custom demo build with only a few leagues and options. Just my 2 cents, i never buy pc games but i decided to buy this one.... |

http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...at-expect.html It's spelled out very clearly what you'll receive by purchasing the Beta now. Look on the positive side, you're helping to develop what will be a fantastic game. Everyones input/feedback is important and improves the game. You save a few $$$ by purchasing now, and get the final release in Sep without having to pay again. Win win for both users and developers. |

Second, they are providing a functioning game, and it'll be out in September. Until then, they've been kind enough to allow us to mess about with the beta. And lastly, a demo would not make sense at this point, since the game is still under heavy development. It's not ready for the general public to play. I know that's a rather bitter response, but it's getting really old seeing gamers these days mindlessly throwing money at games, especially alphas and betas, and then complaining that it's not what they expected it to be, or that it's not finished. |

You're pre-ordering the game at a $10 discount. On top of that, you get access to the beta. You're not paying for a beta to get the game for free when released.

I understand it in development.
But you cant watch a game, you cant trade players, you cant force trades. I was open to having the stats way off, i was expecting historical modes to be limited and real players to be half done. I love OOTP i mean if i was a bigger baseball fan i wouldnt of bought FHM. My bluejays are in quite a mess ATM. Is there any mention of fixing core elements of the game, trading is a big issue compared to lets say number of injuries which is a tweakable stat. contracts are another matter i mean when your captain of 5 years wont resign even though you offer him over value the game is broken. \Any ways love the game im just blowing off steam cause i was sooo ready for a hockey ootp. When its released in full i know it will be great but to be completely honest this version should of been free, then in august they should of given the discount. |

It is free. No one has spent anything on the beta. We all pre-ordered the game, which is being released in September. The beta is nothing more than a bonus opportunity being offered to customers who pre-ordered.
In fact, if one really wants to get technical, you could easily say that, thanks to the discount, OOTP Developments is actually paying us to have the beta. Quote:

The one thing I find funny is when I first heard about this game it was slated for a Christmas 2012 release. Now when I look at this game in mid-April 2013 and all its issues I can't even begin to imagine why they had said the game would be ready by December 2012.
This game is broken and I think will barely be ready come September. But still, it pains me to say this, but the beta is already the best hockey sim available out there. ![]() Last edited by QMJHL_GUY; 04-18-2013 at 09:04 PM. |

Having said that, clearly the OP doesn't understand what was clearly spelled out in the thread warning us of what we were getting in beta. They were more then fair about the progress and shape of the game, and have been more upfront than most companies would dared have being.

I think it's not relevant whether the beta is free or not. The facts are:
You pay $30 now and you get access to beta and access to full release in September. OR You pay $40 in September and get access to full release. OR You don't pay and get nothing. It's not important what is free in the first option. In fact none of it is free - you simply pay the price and get the two things. That's the deal. What IS important is that you can read quite precisely what the beta access means and what you will get. So nobody should be really upset about the beta because everyone can know it.
