Question about historical statistics

Is there a way to modify or add statistics for past seasons? I can see where in the player profile the stats are, but the do not seem to be editable and I can not add to them.

Yes. It's a tedious process (and prone to goofups, so be careful) but you can export statistics to text files, edit them as needed (knowing how to do so in Excel and save the files in CSV/TXT format is a plus), and import them back into the game.

The Import/Export Functions are found in Game Menu >> Advanced section >> Setup and Options >> League Setup tab. Read about the procedure in the OOTPB Online Manual:
