Forced Sub?

I had an odd thing happen this morning.

I was playing out a game, in which I control everything for my team.

In the top of the first, during the third out, Lorenzo Cain hurt his elbow and had to be removed from the game.

Normally, I would immediately be forced to the lineup page and I would have to make a substitution. While I don't like this, in this particular case, even if it worked correctly, that would happen. Because while it was the third out, Cain was due up first in the bottom half of the 1st.

This didn't happen. Instead the computer went ahead and put in Eric Hosmer as a pinch hitter. That is certainly NOT what I would have done, but regardless, why is it doing that anyway? That is my decision! In three seasons, this is the first time that has happened. (Hosmer grounded out and I had to make another sub to get an outfielder in the game... burning an extra player in a game where I was already playing with a short bench.)

Good observation. I have this happen to me regularly. Usually it's the pitcher involved. I wonder if anybody ever reported this as a bug. It was not like this in previous versions and maybe not even this one before recent patches.
