Position/defense rating problem

I've been playing the Red Sox and Youkilis has been playing 3rd base all season. All of a sudden he doesn't have been a rating for 3B anymore. What happened? I think he was a "9" before. Is he now a "0" all of a sudden. He's been playing a decent 3B although his hitting has been lousy. Can I still play him at 3B and it's just a dispaly bug or is he really a "0" at 3B now? I'm not sure when this change happened.

Also why doesn't Carl Crawford have a rating for CF??? This makes no sense at all - he is a center fielder who the Sox moved to LF. He should have a rating for both positions?

Might want to reduce talent randomness to less then 100 I use 50 for Modern leagues 1 for a few of my leagues. Your scout may suck, see what OSA rates them. Also players degrade at time, even dramatically. Check their ratings in the editor also.

I'm playing iOOTP 2012 on the IPAD. It doesn't seem to have these settings. All you can do is change the scale of the raings (e.g., 1-10, 1-20, 1-100, etc) and enable/disable injuries and trading.

Carl Crawford is not a CF. he always played LF for the Rays his entire career.

did he randomly lose his infield arm or range? That would drop his overall position rating.

I can't remember what his ratings were before, but they are now the following:

From Defense Ratings page:

Infield Range: 5 (I think this was higher)
Infield Arm: 11
Outfield Range: 6
Outfield Arm: 14
Infield Error: 16
Turn Double Play: 2
Outfield Error: 10

First Base: 14
Third Base: nothing


On his Overview page it has his Defense at 3B as 0.

Why would he suddenly lose his ability to play 3B? I think I read somewhere that a player's defensive ratinng won't (or maybe shouldn't) go to "0" once he gains an ability to play a position. All this seems very glitchy.

I've been playing in the 1960’s and have been watching Rocky Colavito's ratings in LF plummet from a 16 to a 2, but that was over a period of three years and his batting's gone south too.
I went to the league active player>position filter>then chose a position and set the ratings to show the worst ratings. A surprising number of players were 0 at their main position including Mickey Mantle, Maury Wills, Nellie Fox and five third basemen. I noticed some players had a history of injuries but not all. Maury Wills was only 33 years old. Makes me consider carefully who I offer contract extensions to.
