Personnel Leaving - Contract Structure
Personnel:
Is there a chance you could incorporate some kind of warning into "personnel leaving". I realize a great GM should be aware of such things, but maybe a heads up from the last year contract people might be nice (like some of the players). Or even a pop-up on the GM screen to suggest contracts are in their final years for the following personnel? Contracts: Without buttoning it down too much, might there be a way to restrict (especially with superstar-calibre players) weird front-back-middle loaded contracts, some including obscene "team options". For example, and purely in my humble opinion, I think it's a little unrealistic to offer a huge up-front year (because you have salary space), several years of much, much lower years and then obscene option years (especially team options and multiple team options) in a multi-year, superstar deal, for amounts nobody would be expecting to pay. I imagine it's to meet the "total" amount of a contract negotiation in a very creative way, but I would totally respect a player, or better a player's agent, to come back with a "pound salt" at a ridiculous structure. Or if another team were offering more "guaranteed" negotiating with the same player, have that player come back with a counter that evens out the years and rejects "team" options, even changing that to "player" options! Love OOTP btw!!! |

The MLB restricts salary reductions from one year to the next at 80% of prior year, if memory serves (paging LGO!), that would be a good place to start.
