Difficult Trade Scenario
I will soon be competeting in the Longhorn Division and I am faced with (for me) a difficult trade decision. I thought I would run it by the community and see what you all have to say.
Here is the current situation of my big-league team: Bullpen is awesome. Starting pitching has two rookies and both are talented but both are very very very wild. Neither of them is more than a 4th or 5th starter on a good team. One of my starters is a talented 2-pitch reliever and the other 2 guys are one year journeyman free-agents. 1B A solid power hitter with decent to good power, bad contact, and average defense. 2B Excellent, excellent defense but horrible stinking less than .180 offense SS See 2nd base. 3B A not bad hitting SS with excellent defense converted to 3B that would be a premier SS but is forced into the role of a soft-hitting 3B. LF Average bat excellent excellent defense. CF Weak hitting above average defense. No speed. RF 5-Tool All-Star. C Good defensively, below average offensively. Very close to ready prospects: CF Stud impact player probably get called up this spring. SS Everyday starter may see an occasional all-star game but probably not ready until mid to late next season. I'm using a lifeline here so I go with the crowd. ![]() I will check the boards after work tommorow (5:00 EST) and probably make a decision before Saturday afternoon based upon your feedback. Explanations are better than just votes but if you don't feel like typing please at least vote. Tie-breaker (anything within the range of 40-60%) goes to most convincing posts. I will attach 5 screen shots of the player I am giving up (recent scout find) first in the next thread. Then I will post 5 screen shots of the player I would be receiving after that. I doubt that I would be able to add anything else in this trade. If I am able to get an additional body it would probably a useless 1.5 star MR. Basically, this is a straight-up trade. Thanks for the help. Let me know if there is anything else that you need to make a decision.

Roster Overview Pics
I've never seen those windows on the left of the roster overview screen that shows the minor leagues and their top prospects.
How's that being done?

On the roster tab, click the Minor League Overview button.
To suggest a yay or nay on this trade, career numbers and scout quality would help a little... |

As far as the guy I would be giving up those are his career stats shown in the screenshots above. He was a recent scout find. Here are the stats of the guy I would be receiving and the scouting directors ratings:

I guess it all depends where you do and dont have depth.
-If you have 2B depth but no SP depth, do it. -If you have no depth or equal depth at each position in your organization, then i might not do it, he seems like a pretty good pitcher, but the injuries always scare me off, and its not like he is dominant right now. He just seems like the guy who is going to get paid ace money and never be an ace and you'll end up letting him leave as a FA for nothing, you'll overpay him his entire career or you'll trade him for alot less than what your giving up now. But if this 2B is going to get blocked regardless, pull the trigger cause the pitcher will have a use |
