Hall of Fame and Draft Pool
Currently i find myself wondering how both the HOF and Draft pools will work. More specifically i'd like to know if different leagues will have their own Hall of Fames and can two teams from different (competing) leagues draft the same players (like the NHL-WHA in the 70s and NHL-KHL present day)
And i hope that in commissioner mode you'll have the ability to induct players and remove them from the HOF.

Both these are cool ideas. The HOF in OOTP doesn't really work too well if you have more than one major league.

We haven't incorporated the hall of fame yet, but I think each league will get its own HOF.
The draft is already incorporated. Each draft has a draft pool, defined by the players age and origin. A player can be in multiple different draft pools (such as NHL and KHL) and therefore it's possible that a player is drafted in different leagues. |

One more thing regarding the HOF, and it's something that i feel needs to be included is having BUILDERS.
Builders would be coaches and General Managers. (maybe eventually owners if or when they are included) The HOF is the ultimate goal for General Managers...to be remembered and i'd love to compare my GM with the present/historic greats and beat their records. Forgive me if i've mentioned this before but i feel that it's very important in this sort of game. Why it wasn't included in EHM i'll never know.

please include "Championships Won" in the Columns when browsing the HOF. It's one of those important stat/fact that sometimes gets excluded from that screen but should be included. Some players aren't inducted because they haven't won the cup...if you let the user induct players too please let us filter players by awards won (including Cup rings
)

I've mentioned this in the past how i feel having GM stats tracked for all like it is done for players.
I have a book called Behind the Moves - NHL GMs Tell How Winners are Built and it is full of great GM stats from the league like the usual most regular season/playoff wins, games, winning percentage, championships, playoffs made, but also facts like GM Demographics (by place of birth), by playing background, average GM tenure, All teams GM history tracked (Perhaps this could be in a screen that includes listing the coach and the captain for every season, the teams record as well that's always neat to look at. Maybe even profit and average attendance) Some of those might be alittle much for a first version but seeing as how you're being put in the shoes of a GM i think many of these stats being tracked is quite important. Setting up a few screens with the basics for the first version and adding to it would be ideal. This sort of stuff is tracked for players, why not the GMs too? Let me know if you'd like me to scan these stats and i'd be happy to help. The GM stats in this book is just something that isn't easily accessable for most people but it should be in a game like this. It's not just something that adds depth the historical, current day but fictional leagues too. It helps with the "Be the Best" philosophy for all us soon to be GMs [in FHM] This is one of the few things that ootp fails at achieving and i hope it's something that FHM will do. Sebastian, please highly consider implementing this or the foundation for this.

I really like having an emphasis on GM profiling in a career mode.
Ideally the feeling I would like to get out of it, is I am competing with sophisticated AI GM's with personality and ambition. For example, I like the feeling that instead of nameless AI and teams, I am competing with the likes of Ken Holland, Brian Burke, etc. Their accomplishments through time should be recorded. They should have some personality to either be extremely loyal or a mercenary for cash jumping to other teams to help rebuild them. Although there should always be up and coming GM's from retired players and not just the original GM's to keep things fresh. |
