Triple Crown Winner
So in my Rockies game, Carlos Gonzalez won the triple crown in the National League....as well as Miguel Cabrera in the AL.
Has anyone else ever had two Triple Crown winners in the same season? |

In one of my online leagues my team had a hitter win the hitting triple crown and a pitcher win the pitching triple crown in the same season.

No. I did have a player finish 1st in AVG, 3rd in HR and 1st in RBI and in the other league a player finish 3rd in AVG, 1st in HR and 2nd in RBI. Not really close to two TC winners but that is the closest I have had. Looking back at my 80 seasons I have never had a TC winner - hitting or pitching. |

I almost had the same thing happen in my solo league. My LF won the triple crown. But my #1 SP missed the pitching triple crown by 4 Ks. My pitcher would have won back to back triple crowns as well if he had struck out 4 more batters.

Yes, but it probably doesn't count since they were both custom players. I lead the AL in AVG .378 tied for HR at 38 and lead in RBI at 126 1 more then my teammate who tied me for HR. A RF in the NL won his 3rd TC in a row.

No triple crown in my league for 41 years.

My batting ones
1891 Denny Lyons 1896 Nap Lajoie 1899 Nap Lajoie 1901 Nap Lajoie 1920 Babe Ruth 1926 Lou Gehrig 1931 Chuck Klein My pitching Dean of New York Wins Pitching Triple Crown Monday, October 2nd, 1933 You wouldn't have to be a baseball genius to think Dizzy Dean will win the coveted Outstanding Pitcher Award this year. The New York Yankees ace certainly has the numbers to take it, topping the American League with 25 wins, 2.24 ERA and 185 strikeouts to win the Pitching Triple Crown. Might have another from wayback.

In OOTP 11, I had that happen, but it was Pujols (NL), and ARoid (AL)

You need to adjust your league totals.

I haven't had any Triple Crown winners since. I'm in 2029 now and had one player get close in 2017. My long-time LF, Bill Scott, who I drafted in 2013, hit 75 HRs and had 149 RBI but missed the batting title by 16 points. He's averaged 42 HRs a year since then and is getting close to Hank Aaron all-time.
I personally like having those statistical anomalies like Scott. Less than five players hit over 40 HR each year in both leagues combined and league average ERA is around 4.65 usually. So the league totals seem fine to me. |

![]() ![]() Greenberg Captures Triple Crown Monday, October 1st, 1934 Hank Greenberg of St. Louis roared out of the gate and never looked back. The 23-year-old powerhouse slammed 48 home runs, had 155 RBIs and batted a solid .363 on the year to grab the American League Triple Crown, the 8th one in NABL history.

84 seasons in one league without seeing any triple crown winners. I just started a new league and I have 3 Triple Crown Winners ( 2 batting, 1 pitching). One of the batting TC winner was on my team and had a .398-69-201 year. I have never had this kind of a season ever. It will probably be another 84 seasons before I see anything like this again..... |

Miguel Cabrera won it in my 2012 Quickstart league. In my 1939 league I had Ted Williams and Jimmie Foxx battling for all three categories but in the end Barney McCosky spoiled the party and won the batting crown. In the NL, Johnny Mize was leading all three for much of the year but lost out in the HR category

Good news I just signed an extension for my triple crown winner for 4 years at $10.6M per season. He was going into arbitration and the team offer was $10.5M so I think I got him at a steal. Lets see what he can do for an encore. EDIT: Luke Cooper wins the TC for the second straight season .353-58-152 EDIT 2: Wins TC for the third straight season .379-54-165 EDIT 3: Missed out on TC .356-47-156 (Leader in RBI had 166, but Cooper led in AVG and HR) Last edited by SandMan; 10-18-2012 at 03:45 PM. |

I haven't had one yet -- did have Strasburg get the pitcher's Triple Crown, however.
Sadly enough, since you mention Carlos Gonzalez, he was an RBI away from the Triple Crown two seasons ago, then broke his knee, and is now whittling away in AAA, seemingly having never recovered. |
