Is it OK for Starters to be Relievers?

In my All Time All Star Leagues, about 65 % of the pitchers are starters.

Is it ok to use starters as relievers on a regular basis?

Or must I use them primarily as they are designated (starting pitcher or middle relief) for the game to operate as it is designed?

I don't plan to assign any closers because I want the relievers to divide the innings pitched as much as possible. This doesn't seem to happen if closers are designated.

I put the "closers" in the setup slots, although they are designated middle relievers or starters.

I also intend to list the #5 starter and spot starter in the third and fourth slots of middle relievers. This should increase their innings.

Will these changes foul up the game?

Agreed. I think it should run just fine.

The roles don't seem to affect the player's except for having the game choose where to play them. If you didn't remove the closer role those guys would pitch there even if a better guy was available for the role but designated a middle reliever.

Keep in mind that starters in relief roles without seperate relief endurances are considered * endurance I believe which is a level below E. These guys will not pitch overly long in that role even though they could throw 100+ pitches normally if they started.
