Your Longest Game

I tried searching to see if anyone had a thread for this already and couln't find 1.
This is the longest regular season game I have had. Longest ST game was 21 innings.

I just played a game (I think it was 16 innings) against the AI where it ran out of bench players, the center fielder was injured and had to be taken out of the game, and the AI was forced to play a starting pitcher in the outfield.

I still lost the game, though.

Something like 19 innings, frustrating game. Every time I took the lead, they tied it right back up. Eventually ended up winning, since they had an exhausted pitcher and my hitters destroyed him in the top of the 19th.

This was simmed but my team won a 20 inning game. My backup catcher ended up pitching 3 shutout innings with only one walk allowed and won. Even better was my starting catcher was injured so the backup was actually starting and I only brought up that guy because he was already on the 40 man roster. Wackiness

Is there still a problem in OOTP 12 where if a game goes over a certain number of innings (40 IIRC) some stats start to get borked up?

Well, not wrong values, just further on bits from the world.dat record. There is a hard coded structure limit of 39 innings and if the innings count is > 39 the box score just keeps outputting as many bytes as it needs from the database. So if a game goes to 43 innings the 40th-43rd inning for the away team is actually the Starting Pitcher ID for the home team in big-endian order (40th + (41st * 256) + (42nd * 65536) + (43rd * 16777216?)).

At the 50th inning for the away team you'll start to see the home team inning scores starting at the 1st appearing for the away team.

This is probably a design update for 2008 because having 39 innings per team per match as a fixed limit uses up more space than having a variable structure. The match summary record already contains the innings count so this could be used to determine how many bytes to read for box scores.

Given most matches end in 9, there is 60 bytes of unused space in each match record, and a traditional MLB setup has something like 14,000 matches, that comes to almost a megabyte in un-utilised space.

Got a news story about a player going 6 for 10..when I checked the box scores Arizona and SanFran played a 26 inning, 7hour 39min marathon that saw all 50 players used, with the final score being 3-2 on a solo shot in the bottom of the 26th, which also set all sorts of records. I noted the date cause I'll post it someday. Interestingly enough after 21 innings, the box score just overwrites the teams logo on the right side and becomes a garbled mess. Also noticed that if you break a record (in this case at bats) it will keep repeating it in the special notes...ie,.jones sets the NL record for at bats at 10, jones sets the NL record for at bats at 11 etc etc - as oppposed to just saying it once after the 11th at bat. maybe something for '13 version to adjust.

I hit print screen on my keyboard then go into paint and do a copy. Crop what i can use then past into a new, save as a jpeg. Then go online and upload to one of those free site like imageshack and such. Com here and past the appropriate code into the post.

Just had a 17 inning game. We eventually won, but in the process i lost my best player for a week due to injury in the 16th inning and all the runs scored by the opponent were solo home runs. I REALLY can not afford that injury. I already have 4 guys on the DL as it is.
