Customization 101/ Handbook

Hi,

Is there a guide to setting up independent leagues, or alternate baseball universes etc somewhere? I don't always find it particularly straightforward!

Or, a link with some uploaded templates!

Thanks.

OOTPMODS.com has templates but some may have to be converted from 11 or 12 to 13.
and if you do an advanced search for independent leagues you may find a handful of threads.
What are you trying to do?
I have many various leagues, some have independent leagues many are fictional some are a mix of modern, historical and independent.

I will tell you this much so indy leagues, set the financials and possibly strategy to a season of the past.
Example 1 - I have a fictional 16 team ML with a 12 team Indy league. all 12 teams are in each of the major markets for the ML. For the ML finances and strategy are 2010 which is the season I am in. The American League Indy league is set to 1990 for finances and 2010 for strategy. They have signed the vast majority of over the hill players, while still keeping a handful of their original stars (for now) Maddux, Hornsby & Griffey.

Example 2 - I have a modern 2011 MLB featuring a Nippon league with finances set to 1995 a Australian Baseball League set to 1950 and 2 fictional ML levels. 1 set to 1981 and teh other set to 1996 finances and modern strategy. In the 2nd fictional league many high quality MLB stars play for that league including Prince Fielder, Justin Verlander & Miguel Cabrera. Many lower quality stars play for the 1st league such as Jeff Smardija, Ervin Santana, Kosuke Fukudome, Ichiro (he's old) & Paul Konerko (rated very low compared to IRL)

I suppose what I am trying to do is have some kind of North American real world set up, with the NCAA feeders for the majors and most of the independent leagues, though I would prefer real world MLB rosters, it's not a major issue for me.

I am trying to re-jig the World of Baseball mod to be a bit less ungainly (I don't really need Korea and China!), but seem to run into a few issues, mainly due to my own incompetence.

You have highlighted a few issues I am worried to run into if I try and set something up with indy leagues - ie, taking all the best MLB players.

Ultimatley, a quick start or template would be great, I suppose we should be nice to the devs!

Thanks for the help!

Might be a fun project for me, did you want 2012 MLB rosters? Not saying I will set it up or if I do I may not use actual parks, owners or coaches but I have been contemplating a setup like that.

2012 opening day rosters would be great, though just a tempelate of this world would be great also.

If you do decide to do it, let everyone know, I am sure theres loads of people who would love a quickstar/ template like that.
