The National Pastime Baseball League (NPBL) is Moving to OOTP13!

The National Pastime Baseball League (NPBL), one of the longest-running online leagues in operation, is moving to OOTP13 for it's 49th season! We began as an OOTP4 league in December of 2002, and have been going strong ever since.

The NPBL is a casual, fictional league with no finances. We sim 3 times a week (M-W-F shortly after 8am eastern) and feature a "live" draft each off-season.

We are finishing up the 2047 playoffs right now, and will have 2 teams available for the upcoming 2048 season:

Illinois Jethawks - Coming off a first-place (98-64) finish but a disappointing first round playoff exit. Lots of talent on the team.

Utah Scorpions - On the other end of the spectrum, Utah was next-to-last in their league (64-98) and are in need of a little TLC.

If you are interested, please contact me by sending me a PM here. You can visit our site ( http://www.npblbaseball.com ) and have a look around, but you'll need to contact me here because I have registrations turned off.

Thanks!

Just curious but do you plan to update your league rules?

Rules say you're using OOTP 10?

According to the rules, the 4 division winners plus 6 WC teams make the playoffs. According to your Reports page, you only have two divisions, so that is somewhat confusing.

Also, how your draft order is determined is confusing a bit too. Non play-off teams in inverse order -s o does that mean the best non playoff record picks first?

Tks

Thanks for the questions! Yes, it is indeed time to update the rules...

We are currently using OOTP11... we skipped 12 and will probably continue to update only every other year for the foreseeable future.

We eliminated the divisions a couple of seasons ago, but still have the same number of playoff teams. However, once we upgrade to 13 we will have divisions again and only 6 playoff teams per league (division champs will get a bye).

Regarding the draft order, 'inverse order' just means worst record goes first.

Illinois has been claimed, but Utah is still in need of an owner.

Utah sounds like a fun challenge! Would the new owner have the opporunity to relocate the franchise at all?

Good to see this league still going strong. I believe I moved the team to Utah and led them to their rare moment of glory about 20 seasons ago. Then again I had the legendary Kevin Smith leading the rotation.
