skin.bin file
Downloaded all 3 skins via download center.
Made my edits to them, deleted the skin.bin files in each one. Rebuilt them - only the dark skin rebuilt the skin.bin file. Classic and default skins work, but it will not rebuild that file, which in turn, makes it take much longer to load the game at first. Anyone ever see this? Was the same way last year.. not sure how the dark skin rebuilds itself, but the other two won't? I've retraced my steps about 5 times and it just won't rebuild them. |

Try putting back the 13 font and then do your skin.bin thing with your edits in place. After regenerating all three bin files by switching skins, then put back the 12 font. And try not to switch skins thereafter. It's the price we are paying for swapping the fonts, I think. Last edited by 1998 Yankees; 06-30-2012 at 04:47 PM. |

Still does not create a skin.bin file.
I can delete that file for the dark skin and it rebuilds it.. not for the default or classic skins. I think it's a bugaboo! It still loads, but takes a long time without that skin.bin file.Does it work for you? Last edited by MizzouRah; 06-30-2012 at 08:41 PM. |

Well, I figured out a workaround.
I took the files in the ootp 13 dark (skin) folder and then backed them up to a folder on my desktop. I then moved the files from the ootp 13 classic skin folder (without the skin.bin) file to the ootp 13 dark folder and then had ootp rebuild the ootp 13 dark skin and WA-LA, it created a skin.bin file. I then moved all those files back to my ootp 13 classic skin folder and now it works properly. I followed those same steps to rebuild the ootp 13 skin and then restored my ootp 13 dark skin files. Now all 3 are working properly. There must be something with that ootp 13 dark skin folder that allows the skin.bin file to be recreated - while it can't in the other two skin folders. Anyway.. I'm happy! |
