End of Season Score

Hi Everyone,

I just bought OOTP 13 last week, and it is my first OOTP game. So far, it is one of, if not the best games I have ever played. But anyways, I just finished my first season as the coach of the White Sox, and ended with a not-so-great record of 74-88. My owner's expectation was to have a winning record. So at the end of the year I was given an end of season score (I think that was what they called it), and it wasnt very good. So basically I was wondering if that score only reflects my teams performance, or if it reflects what moves I made as well (Waiver pickups, trades, strategy, etc)

Thanks

I don't think there is a definitive explanation of the score from the developer. If it exists, I would like to see it myself.

In my experience, my scores have been based on my team's results/performance compared to the owner's expectations. If the owner is ecstatic or very happy during the season, I can count on a very high score. If he is unhappy or furious during the season, my score will be dismal.

I don't see any connection between the score and my moves (or lack thereof) or my financial results, but maybe it's there and just not obvious to me.

Ok, Thanks. That was my assumption, because it would be pretty complex to rated every transaction and move someone made and put it all into one score. I just wanted to make sure that the score wasn't due to me making awful moves since it was my first season.

I'm pretty sure Markus mentioned a few versions ago it covers a range of things, including trades/waivers/fa signings, finances, results, expectations, etc etc. I know some players have won the WS and finished 1st a few years in a row and gotten avg scores. So it's not just winning, but your overall approach to running a baseball team. Are you fiscally respomsible? Do you improve the team without overspending or trading away the farm to win now? Are you drawing fans to the park? etc etc

Ok, thanks, but that leads me to a new question- Would an average score be 50, or 75, or somewhere inbetween?

I am very new to the game and have only completed 4 seasons with the Oakland Athletics. So far my 'game score' has been 1 - 100 - 1 - 100

Its all or nothing!

Yeah, I got a 2 my first season, and it wasn't like I finished in last place or anything...

I'm pretty sure 100 is tops, but don't know for sure since I've never paid attention to that. So what's avg is really up to you. Everyones idea of avg is different, but I guess 70 would be a solid avg. To some it might be 50.
