Owner furious-consequences?
Are there any consequences of your owner being furious at team performance?Wow, I mean just because I went over the $200,000,000 budget and am in last place!
I win, his attitude gets better, lose - he worsens. He's been lingering between mad and furious for a week. Lucky he's lenient and tolerable. |

It is not possible to get fired in iOOTP (we want to keep it simple) but it might effect your Budget over time.

I think getting fired would add a ton of excitement and realism to the game thus giving the player a multitude of options as in managing a great team ready for the playoffs who's owner expects results or given more time from an organization that is rebuilding. Then if getting fired only some teams would be available to manage. Not the powerhouse that just won the World Series. Like I said this is just my opinion and a wish.

Yeah, it would be interesting but then you have a lot of people complaining why they get fired (because they just want to play with their favorite team) and I have to make it an option and then Apple has to make the screensize bigger.

My Fan Rating is 69% which is the lowest I've ever had it
After creating a WS winning team I found that I simply couldn't afford to keep about 10 of the players once their salary arbitrations kicked in so I has to release them for prospects .. the prospects will come good in a year or 2 ![]() Would I have been sacked for going way over budget ? ... even though this team then won the WS Or would I have been sacked as a result of my financial restructuring ? The non-sacking element is good as it gives new guys a bit of time to learn the game. And it's allowed me to recover after getting very greedy with my roster/available salaries etc ![]() Edit : I'm now 72% with a record of 67 - 19 (.779) ... can't please some people Last edited by Disco Dog 13; 06-12-2012 at 06:24 AM. |

That's actually disappointing. From what I've seen, the financial consequences don't seem to really kick in either. I think I've only had it drop once, when my owner died and a new stingier one came in after a bad season. Basically no consequences for sucking...kind of depressing actually.

I have to agree with Disco Dog about giving new gamers a chance to learn the game. In my case I had no idea that I could even go over budget - so I made a blockbuster trade and signed some one year players to large contracts through a misunderstanding of my options.
Also , what about the gamer who looks at his team as a long distance, say fifty to a hundred year empire? No sense in firing him and wrecking his fun. Though maybe when I'm an old veteran at the game I wouldn't object to a firing option and can understand that wish by some. Anyway I went back below budget, am on a streak and the owner is ecstatic again. |
