You'll probably find what you're looking for in this thread:

If you are trying to import a fictional player or a specific player that's in a saved game I would suggest saving that as a template and than importing that league into your new one. Delete all players you don't want, than delete league. Your player should show up in FA pool.

Only problem is you have to deal with duplicate scouts and coach's, won't be all of them but there will be duplicates most likely.

But yeah that's how you do it

Once again I wish a Danger Z type editor was available. With HH and Danger Z editor you could copy & paste any players from any league into a new or existing league.

THanks guys.. I'll mess around with it later.

You know how it is. You start a league and start becoming attached to familiar players. That is all it is here, I just want to follow them.

I should have mentioned, this is a created player.

I know I could probably edit in a player but I won't get the stats.

yes you can

export the stats from the league you want, make the player in the new game and export those stats and roster, find you players id, copy stats from old league into new league stats.txt, just make sure you use the right player id. Then import and it should have his stats.

now they won't match up to anything that's happened in your new league but you can have his stats

i did this with a MLB quickstart that had some minor stats into a league that didn't. Do the same with player history

Another way

If this is for a fictional player you could always do the following to get him into you league with stats.

1. Open the lahman database and add this player to the Master file.

2. Add his batting stats to the batting file

3. Add any defense stats to the fielding file, if he was an outfielder also add the defensive games played in the fielding OF file.

Then you just import the player using the ID you gave him in the master file. It works like the player is a historical player. You just got to make sure that you enter all the data correctly.

I have done this in the past and it works okay.

So by doing this you could start at say 2003 which begins my EBL league and all the players would show up as in a normal historical game?
or just be able to import these players into any league with OOTP stats vs stats that came from other games?

I know this is an old thread but I just got back to playing and wanted to do the same thing in 13.

There HAS to be an easy way to do this.

This game needs an Export player button where only the player and his entire history is exported. Then of course an import player option to move him into a league.

You can clone a player and his attributes will match but everything else is gone, no stats or anything.

Recreate the player in 13
In 12 export that players stats
In 13 export stats and find the recreated players ID then give him his stats from 12.
Reimport stats and he should now have his stats from before.

Otherwise do as Sandman suggested and add them to the database as these are the only 2 options that i can see

That is why I say, they need to make this an option. I'm sure I'm not the only person that wants to do this and in the scheme of things, I wouldn't think it would be very hard to implement.
