Pinch Hitter & Pinch Runner

You start the game

You set up your Rotation and Bullpen.
You set up your Depth Chart
You set up your Lineup

If you sim parts of the game then the AI will insert either a Pinch Runner and/or Pinch Hitter during certain games.
I'm not sure how the AI decided who to put in as your Pinch Hitter/Runner here.

Question for the Developers - Pinch Hitter - who would get picked ?
... a guy with 60 contact and 80 power .. or the guy with 90 contact and 50 power ?
I guess the Pinch Runner is a bit easier to predict but again would the AI go for the player with 80 speed and 70 base stealing ..... or 60 speed but 90 base stealing ?

Would it offer any additional benefit to allow the User to allocate from the unused players a nominated Pinch Runner and Pin Hitter plus a reserve for each as well (in exactly the same way that Depth Chart within the game currently works)

Anyone know how this aspect of the game works ?
Anyone think adding the ability to select these roles in advance would help ?
