where are the pick offs?
Has anybody ever seen a pick off. Do they ever happen? Have I just not seen them?

Yes, there are pickoffs. I had a guy picked off two days in a row in close games in my last series. Yeah, I was cussing at the monitor
I also picked a guy off in my last game played.Haven't done any studies but they seem to happen at a realistic rate. How many games have you played? |

Throw over. It helps to have a pitcher with a good move and a baserunner with low baserunning instincts, but I think that probably any pitcher can pick off any baserunner if their number comes up. Also, it could be anecdotal but some guys seem easier to pick off, case in point the above-mentioned Garrett Jones. Also, for me rally-killer Gordon Beckham.

Your chances of seeing a pickoff will increase just ever so slightly if you throw over.

It's amazing that Beckham was able to get on base in the first place.

That's because it's Yadier.
Not many baserunners survive against him.

Joining the chorus of those who are frequently picked off. I think I've been picked off at least 15-20 times in just over 1 season of play in OOTP 13 so far.
I picked someone off once, it was nice. |

I've had pretty good luck with picking off runners. In fact, I've tried to limit throwing to first after I picked off three runners in a two game stretch... Was starting to think something was goofy and I was exploiting...

It should be, IMO, slightly easier to pick off a basestealing threat due to a larger lead being taken, while the poor baserunners should be taking fewer chances with their leads. |
